Hear hear especially to your very first point. When an official mentions things like "democracy", "the country", or "we", that official is referring to the GOVERNMENT, not to the people under the government's rule. The only goal that those in government have is continuity of government. The very fact that there are "disaster shelters" like Raven Rock, for "the continuity of government" in the case when the government's bombs lay waste to humanity, that the government has a "security state" that keeps secrets from those under government rule, and conducts wars "against foreign governments" that never actually attack anyone in government - the only deaths are those under government rule, should make it blatantly obvious that government is an adversary to those under its rule. But the propaganda works. I don't know a single soul that doesn't believe everything that the telescreens tell them. sigh
