The government very rarely lies. The problem is that their speech is often misinterpreted. When the government says "we", the government means "the government". "we will be more secure" means "continuity of government". The error made is that for some crazy reason some believe that when the government says "we", the government somehow means "the people". That's a crazy belief. Much like the Israelis rule the Palestinians even though they consider the Palestinians as an enemy, the government rules the people, but also considers them the enemy. Imagine listening to a foreign dictator and believing that when he or she says "we", he or she means "us". The government has a single function: continuity of government. The people are the enemy - they are the only threat to government. Keeping them under the rule of government is a priority. Much like Israeli rulers have decided to deny food, water and electricity to the Palestinians, the government (not just the US government - ALL governments) will ration those items to the people. Watch what happens in the Middle East closely. Watch the relationship between the governed and the government (not just the Palestinians. Israeli citizens too. As well as the proletariat in every country, eventually) and see where the war truly is.
