The light blinked on for a moment there, with the talk of the WWII soldiers singing along with their "enemies" over the Christmas season. Mr Freeman touches on the real issue: Hamas doesn't represent the Palestinian people. The Knesset doesn't represent the Israeli people. The US Congress doesn't represent the American people. See a pattern here?

But even that doesn't go far enough. Governments NEVER "represent" their "people". Governments are formed to QUASH "the people", and they "collude" (as if various governments are indeed separate from one another at the very top) to wage war against humanity. The whole "dictator" thing is pretty much played out, so now the governments don't kill "their own" people, they collude to kill one another's.

There is only one war. "Governments" v governed. Once seen through this lens, the world's events all make sense. When a politician uses a phrase like "to protect our security", remember that he or she or it means "continuity of government", not the welfare of the governed.
