The Lhokseumawe Sabhara Police Rehabilitation Unit (URC) team is conducting security and guarding of the churches in Lhokseumawe City on Sunday (3/6). Security is done in order to anticipate the terror or things that interfere with Christian worship in the city.
"Yes, we are carrying out these safeguards in order to prevent the occurrence of things that are not desirable, especially terror as happened in some time ago," said Lhokseumawe Police Chief AKBP Ari Lasta Irawan, through Sabhara Iptu Sofyanto.
He added that his personnel deployed 15 personnel consisting of 8 Sabhara personnel, five Intelligence Unit personnel, five Traffic Unit personnel and Lhokseumawe Police Station to conduct security at the GMI Church (Gereja Methodist Indonesia), HKBP Church and the Catholic Church of ST Mikael in Kota Lhokseumawe.
"In the security activities we carry out the sterilization of places of worship before use, securing, check bags and goods brought in pilgrims, and others who provide a sense of security to them while worshiping," he said.
