Hello all and welcome!
This is a conceptual proposal of a possible route of decentralized blockchain integration for the recycle of skateboards into various consumer products for resell.
Im torn on the name OBB or Sunder so please lmk in the comments which one you like better!
OBB(Order of the Broken Board)/Sunder White Paper Rough draft
An incentivized, blockchain-based, skateboard recycling guild
Order of the Broken Board/Sunder is a blockchain-based recycling guild that uplifts the skateboarding community with craftmade wooden goods and cryptocurrency rewards for senders, investors, curators, makers, artists and marketers.
We think skateboarders are the most creative people in the world and the centralization of their profit margins has stifled their economic prosperity.
The OBB is the first blockchain based skater operative for decentralized earnings and progressive professional development.
One of the greatest problems the skateboard industry faces is the lack of representation in corporate sponsorship(centralization of profits). The average brick and mortar skateshop with 500,000 in sales only profits around 50k. This simple fact has caused board price stagnation and skateboarding communities around the globe suffer when shops can’t survive.
It’s really a shame considering all the literal blood sweat and tears that I know you all have put into skateboarding.
The decentralization of earnings is the future of skateboarding as all skateboarders are artisans of their craft. Order of the Broken Board/Sunder envisions a future where all skateboarding activities are sponsored by the guild.
We work with skateboarders, videographers and editors to help them understand the value of their content by providing a method of monetization and affiliate marketing. We also provide training for all guild members to effectively brand themselves and monetize their own content.
This type of curation creates hype with which we will use to sell a targeted volunteer based audience an end product of their own creation/contribution. The entire process of product creation is delegated by a voting model based on support in stake.
We accept monetary donations and donations in the form of skateboards to be logged into a blockchain database that would attribute to final price payout from authored product creation in the form of skatehive token.
Donated boards are checked into a verified shop by the MAKER(these are the production specialists that create products) who verifies log information such as condition being resell quality(based on HQ condition or collectable value), recycle, or w.e. Board Brand and issue(if possible), Donators Name, Percentage of reusability if recyclable(this will factor into final price payout).
Product ideas: Rings, Earrings, Belt Buckle, Pen, Bench, Chair, Keychain, Necklace, Table, Countertop, Cutting Board, Coasters, Beads, Wall Art, Bottle Opener, Baseball Bat, Trophy, Plaque, Magic Wand, Walking Cane, Wooden Cutlery, Comb, Backscratch, Tech Deck, Stool, Barstool, Clock, Wall hook, Shelving etc,,.
The greatest challenge I can think of is to incentivize the donation of material goods in the form of skateboards and their broken brothers. This would be offset by a promotion to offer a bonus return payment on the shipping in cryptocurrency rewards.
Operation Skateway to Heaven: A guerilla marketing campaign to build notoriety and amass the largest collection of broken skateboards known to man. Setting world records like the largest skateboard fence/wall or something else off the wall skateboarding stunts or stats could be a fast track to success.
Another great challenge will be further understanding the relationships between contributors in terms of profit ownership. This would directly stem from the condition of the donation and its perceived value as a collector may pay premium prices for rare HQ boards.
The majority of the labor would actually fall upon the makers but without having a high rewards pool for curation, donation, and other outlets such as art and marketing.
If you managed to read the entirety of my 600 word attempt at a white paper rough draft please give yourself a pat on the back and know that I really appreciate your time!
Even if you think this is a stupid idea please let me know what you think in the comments below. I dont expect it will actually happen but I do think its a move in the right direction for progression.
