In the pagan village near Plouguer, ruled by the druid Comorre, dark rituals involving human sacrifices and mistletoe ceremonies are the norm. Trémeur, Comorre's son, exhibits sympathy for Christians and, after a battle, rescues an elderly Christian captive during a storm. Attempting to escape, they encounter Comorre, resulting in Trémeur's beheading for his desire to convert. However, a mysterious intervention, accompanied by thunder, strikes down Comorre. Undeterred, Trémeur miraculously holds his severed head and continues his journey towards Christianity, leaving the pagan village behind amidst supernatural occurrences.
