Driving the boat toward the Annex Library, I encountered snake-like Slither worms in the floodwaters. After bypassing a restricted building, I found Harry dead and the gate mechanism jammed. Entering a cracked wall, I unlocked a magical safe room containing Kelvin and Faye's belongings to manage inventory and save progress.
Steering the boat through the flooded streets toward the Annex Library, we passed near a ruined shelter. Kelvin warned me about the Slither - massive, foul worms that emerged during the flood and now infested the area like giant snakes.
Checking the street signs submerged in the water, I confirmed we were heading in the right direction. Kelvin called out for Harry to open the main water gate, but received no answer.
Realizing we were on our own, I looked for a landing spot to open it manually. I spotted an accessible building with an open window.
Despite a "No Trespassing" warning painted clearly on the exterior wall, I climbed through, as it was the only path forward. Kelvin followed close behind, raising his gun and preparing for a fight.
Stepping out the other side of the building, we discovered Harry's body on the ground. Kelvin was stunned by the sight, unsure of who or what could have killed him.
Moving past the scene, I located the control lever for the gate, but pulling it revealed the mechanism was jammed tight
To fix the machinery, I squeezed through a cracked wall into an adjoining structure. Inside, Kelvin pointed out a unique symbol etched into a door, explaining that it marked a safe area.
Stepping through the doorway felt almost magical as the room shifted around us.
Inside the chamber, Kelvin was confused to find various personal items belonging to him and Faye scattered around.
The game explained that these magical safe rooms act as sanctuaries to save progress manually, rest, and manage stored inventory. After checking through the stash and setting a manual save point, I prepared to head back out and fix the jammed gate.
That's all for this session. More moments coming soon and thanks for checking it out.
