It was sunday,

the wind was strong, the weather was sunny and the direction was obvious: we need to sail to Harlingen. As per usual we took a short detour to take a look at some seals and of we went!

The wind blew from the west,

so we had to motor the first few miles to reach a point where we could set sails.

The biggest sailing ship in the Netherlands,

is called "Summertime". With its 67 meters length and 4 masts it is quite the ship. Not the most beautiful one but still.

A little de-tour

to a sand bank reveals the sight and home of a lot of seals. Aren't they cute?

3 mast - 2 mast and a one mast yacht

- all in one frame. I like the dynamics on this photo.

The Mallejan

under full sails. Even though this seemed a little bit to much sail for my liking, the owner of this boat is a well trained sailor so everything was under full control.

Hank and the Boreas

on their way to Harlingen. He seemed like in a hurry :-P

The La Bohme

races to the islands. In my opinion of the most beautiful ships around the Netherlands coasts.

The Summertime

with almost full sails on their way back home.
