This next record in my collection is definitely one of the weirder ones I own, but also one of my favorites. If you don't know much about Ariel Pink, just know that he's pretty out there. This album in particular, which is my favorite one of his, practically changes genres every song, so I would completely understand if someone can't get into this. Although some of the songs are fairly poppy and accessible, there are songs like "Dinosaur Carebears" and "Sexual Athletics," whose titles really speak for themselves and would most likely be pretty alienating to listeners who aren't familiar with Ariel Pink's shtick. I wouldn't normally recommend this record to people I know, but if you're looking for something different, you'll definitely get it with this one. Recommended songs: "Not Enough Violence," "Put Your Number in My Phone," "Black Ballerina," "Picture Me Gone."
One of the simpler album covers in my collection. The color doesn't show up too well (at least on my computer), but the background is pink and the raised letters appear to have some glitter in them.
The vinyl record itself is standard black, so I figured I would instead post the gatefold art.
And a download code! If you're feeling adventurous, use the code and give it a listen. Make sure you let me know how you enjoy (or hate) it.
