After the election of 2008 a furor arose over the legitimacy of Barack Obama's birth certificate. The investigation by Sheriff Joe Arpaio showed the form submitted by the former president to have been a clever computer generated forgery. An official in the Hawaii Registrar of Voters Office has recently come forward and signed an affidavit stating that not only is there no long form birth certificate from the medical facility where Obama claims to have born.
As early as 2008, when Obama was still a senator, filing for his run for the presidency, an investigation began for the form... it became ongoing and lasted well into his presidency. The official stated under oath that not only is there no long form birth certificate, there is absolutely no record whatsoever that Obama was born in Hawaii. According to this person, it was common knowledge in the Registrar's office and that high ranking officials including the Governor and the chief registrar told everyone in the office to "shut up" about it. It remains to be seen if this will have any impact at all.
