But you have to admit, the first one was a real attention getter.
I got an email a couple of days ago congratulating me on my 3rd year on Steemit... however, it was on Thanksgiving Day 2016 that I watched a video on High Impact Flix that encouraged me to sign up, so to me Thanksgiving will always be my anniversary. It's been a mercurial ride from the dizzying heights of late 2017 to the depths of 2018... I had to deplete my account just to afford food for my dog. In the last year I made it to the apex of Weku the highest rep on the platform) a dubious achievement indeed. I made a fortune in virtually worthless crypto... my Monopoly money empire. But now I'm where I belong... writing once again for the sake of writing.
I learned that for all of its shortcomings that Steemit is fundamentally an honest place... that's not saying that all of the users are honest, but the platform itself is- and after what I've been through in the last year, that in itself is a welcome relief. This Thanksgiving feels like a homecoming to me... so here's to at least another three years.
