It is surprising sometimes the numbers and types of wildlife that will show up at your bird feeders. From the bear I posted earlier to all of these critters, you just never know what you'll see. I haven't purposefully planted flowers and other plants that might attract a wider variety of visitors, but I plan to soon. It's getting to be fall now (though it's still quite hot outside - in the low 90s today with a "feels like" temperature in the mid-100s) so it's really too late to try and plant much this year. We're seeing some migrant birds pass through the area on their routes farther south and the butterflies are everywhere though none are stopping by the yard; I guess I need more and different types of flowers for them to spend much time here.
From dove to blackbirds to a pair of squirrels and, yes, even my Northern Bobwhite - there's a traffic jam at the bird feeder today!
