An old RPG that is a little clunky but the humour is top notch! It is the funniest RPG that I have ever played, personally.
Another great bonus is that this game is STILL BEING MODDED! WHAT? There are lots of great mods out there! One of my personal favourites is a quest mod where you help the grim reaper kill enough people to meet his monthly quota - He checks in on you on occasion and hilarious music plays :D
Pros:
-Funny as hell
-Free (on computer. Not free on mobile)
-Lots of mods
Cons:
-Graphics (duh.. it's old)
-Clunky game mechanics
-Hard as balls (like, steel balls)

This game is hard as hell and lots of fun. Think of it as a flash game before flash games became a thing - but better! You have lots of different enemy characters that you can encounter in the mines, each with their own unique behaviour.
One enemy in particular scared the crap out of my as a kid - when he sees you, he gets angry and chases you around - it gets your adrenaline up FAST!
Pros:
-Super fun
-Can make custom levels
-Challenging
Cons:
-Looks like ass
-Only works on old OS (mac OS 9, I believe.. but maybe also old PC OS)
-Really expensive for what it is.
Escape velocity: Nova

Personally, I prefer Escape velocity: Override but since Nova works on newer machines (at least windows 7, last I played it) I decided to cover that.
This is the newest of all these titles and it is a space exploration game with battle, trade and story. The game is slow at the start but once you get to know the universe, you quickly find the best trade routes and you can get a fleet of ships at your side either by conquering the ships or by hiring escorts!
This game is one of the best of its kind and it is a shame that no game has been made like it since!
Pros:
-Lots of places to explore! (easily 40-80 hours of gameplay)
-Mods that expand and add to the game!
-In depth universe!
Cons:
-Expensive - but it is arguably the best game of its kind
-Huge learning curve
-Hard as hell (as all these games are.. what did you expect?)
