As I've started midway through this season of Splinterlands I wasn't expecting much performance wise. Had to learn a lot but thanks to figuring out how to rent cards (will probably write more about this, there's some info to be found but not very detailed or complete) just before the end of season I was able to break free from the bronze III grind and slip into silver III to steal 12 loot chests (instead of a measily 5!) so I guess tha's great. Even got an epic card from season and a gold foil during daily quests.
Performance: how did I do? Meh, could be better. But like I said not much to expect from a noobie :-) For now I took a lot of losses but it helped me understand the basics of the game and a first grasp of what works and what doesn't. It pleasantly surprised me, the game mechanics are more interesting than it seems at first glance. Even advancing from bronze III to bronze II made the experience way more interesting. I think there's some work to be done by developers, showing the interesting parts of the game early on helps keep players around..

Starting out the only rule set available is standard, while this makes it easier for new players to get a feel for all the other mechanics it limits the experience you have. My first experience with other rule sets was in tournaments and eventually in bronze II and up just on the last day of season. Excited to play more different rules next season as this makes it much more fun (but also more complicated)

Not much to tell you here. Just some random beginner tournies. After deducting the entry fee there's not much of a gain. But it can teach you a lot so will definitely keep doing these!

Got one gold and an epic card. Almost half of the total value of earnings came from those two!
So all in all: not bad for a (half!) first season, looked like I was gonna stay stuck in bronze III but thanks to some good rentals silver III gave many more rewards. Definitely gonna aim for at least that or more in next season. If you haven't yet check out Splinterlands here! Thanks for reading and till next time :-)
