Was thinking about this the other day, even though I just been here a month and pretty much have crypto dust the tax man won't be interested in now, it's good to think ahead. Here in Holland transfers aren't seen as a taxable event. When I did my taxes the other day the only thing I could find regarding crypto (the rules are really catered to bitcoin even, as they almost seem to think that's the only one) is that you pay wealth tax if total wealth is above a certain number. Got me thinking.. do tokens count? Estimated value of NFT's on WAX or in games? etc. etc
Only other mention was if you're an active trader, as in it's considered your job you'd have to pay income tax as well. Or if you get paid in crypto by your employer or when self employed. Kindly asked to calculate the euro value of every transfer too xD
Since the wealth tax is based on the January 1st value, this is something I won't have to deal with for some time. Guess when my crypto reaches the taxable amount I'll declare that (only real questions now is, do you have these assets and if yes is it more than x amount).
Also, not gonna market time and just hodl and reap the staking benefits till the next one so I'm with you on that. Except I won't swap much or at all even though it's not taxable. I'll try to balance by buying others to minimize costs.
