NEW CREATION REALITIES (2 COR 5:17)
The new creation is a new type of man. He belongs to a new race. He is a fresh one of a new type of man. He is not just a fresh breed or a fresh one of the same kind; rather, he is one of a kind that never existed before! Sin does not have dominion over him and he is not subject to satan. (1 John 3:9,5:18,5:1, John 3:6, Rom. 6: 2, 3, 7, 14).
The new creation is the result of a new birth and new nature in Christ Jesus. Anyone who believes and confesses Jesus as his Lord and personal Saviour is a new creation (Rom 10:9-10). A man in Christ has the God-kind of life in him which in Greek is called “Zoe”. When you are born again, you have the same life that Jesus has in its fullness. It is a life of glory, victory success and excellence (John 10: 10, Jon 5:26, 1 John 4: 17, John 4:12)
Three things a man in Christ has:
THE REAL YOU
In Gen. 1:27, God created man. The word” create” in Hebrew is “Bara” meaning to bring something into existence or being from nothing. In Gen. 2:7, God formed man, meaning to make out of already existing materials. Man is a three-fold being; body, soul and spirit (1 Thess. 5:23). Man is a spirit that has a soul and lives in a body
THE HUMAN SPIRIT (GAL. 5: 16-18)
The spirit is the part fellowships with God (John 4: 24). It is referred to as the inward man - the real man. (2 Cor. 4:16)
THE SOUL (HEB, 4:12, MK, 12:33).
The soul is the intellect- your mind. It is called the seat of information. It captures and processes all information of daily occurrences around you. It is your mind that you use in thinking, reasoning and taking decisions. When you are born again, it is your spirit that becomes born again. The salvation of the spirit is instantaneous but that of the soul is gradual. The soul has to be renewed constantly with the Word of God (Rom. 12: 2). Renewing your mind means bringing your mind into subjection to your recreated spirit through obedience to the Word of God. There can be no renewing without doing the Word of God (Gal 5:16-17, 6:8).
THE PHYSICAL BODY (2 COR. 4:16; 1 COR. 15:52-24)
The physical body is the casing or container of the human spirit. It has no will power of its own but functions with the information given to it by the soul and spirit. The body is subject to the soul and the spirit. It is also called the outward man.
