Today i share a ballpoint pen drawing of my self that i did before i joined steemit, i will drop the progress shots, firstly i did what i call a freestyle sketch of my self with a bic biro without a grid scaling of the photo use as reference, and shaded the dark areas,thus at the photo below
After the sketch i applied pointilism and blur the sides of the sketch with BIC biro shades to give a preview of the facial look of the drawing, thus below
The above view gives how a light shade shows effect of a realistic pen art, but for a more detailed pen art a dark shade with the pen to form a blur shade wil be advisable, even though the above pen art is presentable as light shaded pen art.
But since i wanted something more filled with ballpointpen blur shades i applied another layer of close line strokes with the mindset that the white paper on which it is being drawn won't show especially for the very dark sides like the hair, nose shadows, nostrils, neck shadows etc, thus below is the outcome
Now comparison with the original photo used as reference
