The accused of gang rape and murder cases of multi-millionaire company worker Rupa Khatun on the moving bus in Madhupur of Tangail demanded their innocence. The court on Wednesday fixed the date for arguments in this case.

Tangail Women and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal is in charge of the first Additional District and Sessions Judge Abul Mansur Miah in the trial of the case.

Tangail Special Public Prosecutor AKM Nasimul Akhter said that on Sunday, five accused Habibur, Safar Ali, Shamim, Akram and Jahangir were produced. At this time the charges brought against the accused were read out. The court asked the accused, they are not guilty or innocent. Every accused claims to be innocent. Do not say that the defendants will not be able to test their case, everyone will not give it in this regard. Later the court fixed the date of arguments on Wednesday (January 31).

The testimonies of the sensational case started taking place on January 3 by the witness of the Madurupa Ardhkhola outpost sub-inspector (SI) Aminul Islam. On January 23, the testimonies of the investigation officer of the case, police inspector Qayyum Khan Siddiqui, ended and the witnessing proceedings were concluded. The court has taken 27 witnesses, including doctors, judicial magistrate, in this case.
