Sadly there are millions of people who are plagued by illness, poverty, hunger that cannot appreciate the fact of just being alive and growing day-by-day. Those cannot be criticized as they have worries far bigger.

But those of us who can appreciate life, which is almost everyone out here on Hive, should regularly take the time to be grateful for the own existence and relative prosperity we somehow ended up enjoying.
We should never forget where we've come from, nor should we forget our goals - having big goals is keeps humanities knowledge expanding. But sometimes it's worth a lot to just calm down for a moment and be grateful to the universe, God, Allah or whatever.
