Wow, when I read your post I got really fascinated by the Correo del Orinoco, so I searched it up online. Funnily enough, Wikipedia has articles for it in English, German and of course Spanish. Sadly the German and English one have no interesting content whatsoever. So I did my best to understand the Spanish one (I wanted to use it as practice as well and not just be lazy and grab a translator or AI :P).
Venezuelan history really seems like something to study more. Honestly speaking, I barely know who Simón Bolívar is, and I suspect this to be the case for most people not from the Spanish-speaking parts of America.
One thing I really take with me from this Wikipedia article is that Día Nacional del Periodista is a national holliday linked to this newspaper in Venezuela. I really like the story. Let's see when I'll have the chance to study more about this country – or hopefully even better: visit it myself.
Thank you so much for your interesting post!
