I am sure that not all people who buy private number plates are bad people, or dickheads, but I am reasonably certain that most people who buy them are both.

What I am 100% certain of is that any reasonable human being in our current socio-economic situation sees a private plate and auto thinks 'twat'. Or rather ' Twat' with a capital T.

Thus I had an idea for what is probably a very simple app that...

  1. Scans a private number plate
  2. Accesses a source that informs on the current market price of said plate.
  3. Accesses a database which randomly informs how many good things could have been done with that money (this cld be stand alone).
  4. Creates a printable pdf that says something like 'I bought this plate rather doing X social good'.
  5. Then you can go stick the pdf next to the plate with a QR code back to Hive (optional).

I'm sure in app dev terms it's not that difficult to create, but I personally don't have le skills required.

Just an idea for a bit of social justice fun.

If anyone has the skills to dev this give me a shout and I'm happy to part fund it, or crowd fund it on this magnificent chain.

I have created the account 'privateplatetwat@privateplatetwat' to facilitate this!
