I just 'earned' 400 odd blurt for this post about a Metallica Album:
Blurt's still just under 2 cents, and with the 50-50 split, that's $4 - for a post that took me about one minute.
Ironically I took that picture a few months ago, selling off my record collection before my move abroad - I only got around $25 for the record, and if I work out the effort it took me to list it, package it and so on, I've done a lot better effort-money wise with just that one post.
I'm doing an experiment with Blurt atm - literally just cutting and pasting something I wrote on Hive or Leo and then a second post - some kind of photo from my hard disk with a comment.
The later type of post are doing much better.
I'll post the full results of my earnings once I've done a full month, so far it's not looking too bad for 5 minutes of extra effort a day.
I'd never put posts like this on my profile here, but if people want to chuck money at me for that kind of post elsewhere, I'm happy to let them!
Maybe that's the purpose of Blurt - literally to Blurt, no one over there seems to mind, and you get the occasional $4 pay-out.
It somehow just seems inappropriate to do that kind of thing on Hive/ LEO - even though I've created two alts specifically for that purpose (
