LARRAINE WITH DOG. Arthur Robins 1987 14 x 18 Oil Pastel on Canvas Panel. In the 1980’s I was invited over to have dinner with my friend George and his then girlfriend Larraine. I asked him if he loved her. He said, ‘’Nah, she’s just a meal ticket.’’ That struck me. I had never heard anyone say something like that, and it shocked me. I said,’’George!!! You cant treat people like that!!” After the meal, she sat on the couch and hugged her dog, as if she knew the truth. I did a drawing of it, and then did this oil pastel later.I sold many prints of the drawing. People could feel it.
