Heat with the sun.
Dont swap out one dander for another, dont swap hypothermia for a house fire. Rely on theses few safety tips to help keep a bad situation from getting worse.
Focus on one room: Pick one room, preferably a smaller room with a low ceiling to be the main living quarters during an emergency. Only focus on heating that one room. Trying to heat the others will be a waste of time and resources.
Ventilate: If you decide to use a propane heater, grill, or gas stove for heat then your begging for carbon monoxide poisoning. Even a kerosene heater will need some sort of ventilation. At the very least put the item near a window and use sparingly.
Take care with candles: Candles are a great source of both heat and cooking options but you also run a huge risk with house fires. limit their use. Always make sure you have a working smoke alarm witha carbon monoxide detector.
