Ethereum Developer Virgil Griffith was arrested on November 28, 2019 in Los Angeles on accusations of assisting North Korea in, sanction evasion, via blockchain technology and smart contracts. The arrest took place at Los Angeles International Airport and Griffith was cited with violations of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.
