I remember, I was young as can be,
I hopped on a train, fast, wild, and free.
And I thought the center of the world was me
But as I would grow
The train engine slowed
I grew angsty and mean
Last stop was eighteen.
The chores stack up, the questions arise
What’s your plan, for your whole life?
Find out
now
Now
NOW!!!!
But how do I
how
How!?
HOW!!???

They say you have to learn to go dancing in the rain,
To smile though the pain,
But I’m the type to scream when it’s not fine
I’m the type to wait for the sunshine,
Adulthood hits like a barreling wave
And there is no way for me to be saved
Except by myself.
I can’t whine
I can’t wait for the sunshine
‘Cause it’s not coming
The waves don’t stop
The other shoe will not drop
And after crawling through sand, dirt, all of the mounds
Could that be the sun peaking through the clouds?
