I can relate with the inappropriateness that may happen at school sports level. I feel it's just these people allowing their emotions get the better of them. In this case, them realizing that their emotions was controlling them was the reason they were able to leave and the disappearance by them is an acknowledgement of their undoing.

For some, it may be pure attitudinal issue and if such was the case in that scenario up there, they'd have created scenes without caring that their children were affected.
