Hello there, dear Hivers! I am Renz Cristine Cuizon Lavador, but you can call me Renz. I currently live in Tuburan Sur, Danao City, Cebu. I'm 17 years old and will turn 18 on June 25. To continue my introduction, I want to share that I weigh 50 kg and my height is 5'2". I am a Grade 12 and academic achiever student taking the Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) strand at Ramon M. Durano Senior Foundation Science and Technology Educational Center.
In my family, we are five children, and I'm the youngest. Our eldest is my brother, Ricne, followed by my sisters, Rona, Rheame, and Rena. Recently, my brother met his wife, Rejean, and they now have two children: Xyle and Reian.
Our mother, Cristina, is a single parent and is, to me, the most wonderful independent woman I know. Despite the challenges we face and the disrespect from some relatives, she remains focused, fights hard, and sacrifices a lot to ensure my sisters and I can graduate from college. I understand how difficult it is for her, especially since she is currently in Dubai as an OFW. I often feel the longing to hug her, as she might feel unable to care for her own children while looking after others. I love and understand her deeply.
Despite my sadness and problems, I have friends who support me. They never disappoint me and help ease my sadness. My close friends, Princess and Maria, are like home to me. Our friendship is unexpected yet healthy; we support each other through ups and downs and never let anyone feel ashamed of our bond.
As a curious and observant young girl, I am very active in school performances, which has built my self-confidence. My hobbies include dancing and modeling. I participated in a pageant where I won the title of Miss Eco-Feminism 2023 and received the Miss Photogenic Award. Before achieving this, I faced many challenges and criticisms since Grade 7. However, when I joined again in Grade 9, I was proud to be the 3rd Runner Up, thanks in part to my cousins' support. And also I get the title as a Miss Santa Ice Queen 2023. Additionally, I am a member of the Performing Arts Club, serving as the Peace Information Officer, and I was an SSG representative in my previous school, Beatriz D. Durano Memorial National High School (BDDMNHS). I also love adventuring and exploring, especially mountains, oceans, and city lights.
I joined Hive because I believe it's a positive platform where I can express my feelings and thoughts. I'm excited to meet new people and learn from their articles. I also want to showcase my writing skills by sharing my daily life, which aligns with my studies. You can expect to hear about my place, our culture, tourist spots, and more. I hope to inspire interest in visiting Danao, where I can recommend local food, beaches, resorts, and many other attractions.
