My expectations:

1. People and businesses start using communities and SMTs
2. Blockchain inflation continues to decline on schedule
3. Non-profit services like @burnpost and @sbdpotato get increasingly better at burning tokens in order to tune inflation levels to match usage.
4. Increasing main-stream acceptance of blockchain/cryptocurrency technologies

Those expectations lead me to believe that there's eventually going to be a breakout in Steem's price, but I don't have any reason to think it will happen by the end of January. Here are my guesses.

End of January $0.12
1 year - $0.48
2 year - $1.20
5 year - $12.00

BTW, I'm a big fan of the idea of using Steem as a sort-of prediction market. I think this is a vastly underutilized capability for the blockchain.
