This is a fair point:

I think one of the most popular video genres is probably "how to monetize your youtube video", and another is "Youtube creator whines about being demonetized - with graphs"

I do think the Steem content gets overdone here, but that's because of the voters, not the creators. As long as Steem content is what pays best, that's what the creators are going to create. Unfortunately, for the most part, I don't think it brings new eyes to the site, but as far as I know there's not much hard data to support or refute that belief. I try to minimize my involvement with it, but (as this comment proves), I don't completely stay away from it.

I think it's about balance. Yes, there will always be content about Steem, but the voters need to find a way to support more and better content about other topics, too.

I try to find attractive (as-in attract eyeballs) Steem posts about business & STEM every day for my digest series of posts, but they're not always easy to find.
