Gold is physical, and probably nobody will want to destroy that lovely weird metal. But Bitcoin will become outdated, as other currencies can be transacted faster, and other blockchains can do more. That's why Ethereum shows so much promise, and Solana, while Bitcoin is limited in what that network can do. I was shocked when I learned just how much energy a single transaction on the Bitcoin network consumes, something like enough to power a house for two days. With climate change becoming a major thing for everyone, Bitcoin will lose its appeal. But others will definitely grow, crypto is here to stay.
