This city is full of concrete structures!
In between all the highrises, it's nearly impossible to see any birds. Only some crows and house sparrows fly here and there. I sometimes think, how unfortunate our kids are, including my son, who is growing in this city without knowing any birds, how they chirp.
But I made it possible for my son to see some birds around.
It was not very hard!
After shifting my home to a new apartment building, it became easier for me to arrange food for birds. It's on the 5th floor, so birds easily fly over here and access their food on my balcony.
It's nothing much. But this little thing gives me so much joy. And my son got excited seeing the birds all day long.
Spoiler Alert!!
These photos are not in high resolution, all are captured with my mobile, I tried to do the job secretly without disturbing the birds. I hope you understand.
Common Myna
We call it Skalik in our native language. These birds are very noisy, similar to noisy Miner. They adapted urban environment extremely well.
House Sparrow
Look how happy they are!
I usually provide a bowl full of food every other day. Around 50 birds came to my balcony. Also, I added a small bowl of water for them, but they usually don't drink it. Some bowls got broken or they make it fall from the balcony while eating. So I have to replace it. Now I tie the bowl of rice.
It may seem nothing much to you. But for city dwellers, when we are stuck in the house because of this pandemic; this is a huge thing.
It gives us such a pleasure though they make my balcony dirty/messy, they are very noisy. But we love this.
I hope my joy also touches you a little bit!
