My mom was sick early this month. We had to admit her into the hospital, she had to go through a Golblader operation and now recovering. You can guess how much emotional suffering we had to go through as all of a sudden everything happened, we had to make decisions and life was a bit rough for a few days.
Now she is doing fine.
Well, you may wonder why I'm telling this story. It's because I want to talk about something I noticed, something I learned and I think we all will be at such a point in life that we need to realize and act upon this.
And that is, "it's necessary to learn how to choose to not hold back emotions and move on".
Let me make it a little clearer to you.
For almost fifteen days I was going through emotional sufferings and who I call friends in my life, never showed up in this meantime. Yeah, we all have a busy life but I was expecting some emotional comfort from some of my closest friends. But that doesn't happen!
Just today I informed them what happened and they were like, why didn't you tell us. Well, I could but I was not feeling like and expecting them to check on me.
But you know what, I learned that was a wrong move.
Life flows no matter what and we must keep flowing. We can expect others to act the way we want but that doesn't make it a fact that they would. Even we don't actually do the same what we should. It happens. This is what life is. In all of these ups and downs, if we don't let our emotions go any of our relationships would not work.
I know it will sound crazy who are in mid-school or living in their early adulthood. Life changes, we got married, our priorities change and that means we are far away from a very close friendship. Yeah, many of us are still good friends but it's not always possible to check on everyone as we all got many other priorities in life.
And most importantly, we can't make others accountable on the basis of what we are expecting.
It's totally fine in life to not get things as per our expectations. But that should not make us stop there. I mean, if I choose to hold back emotions over this I would not have any friends in my life. I'm trying to be understandable. Is it hurts? Yeah, totally. But I accept life and this is what it is!!
