Visiting the zoo was never my thing. I don't know why, I never liked seeing the captive animals in the cages. I can remember, I never used to love visiting the zoo as a kid. Rather the Kid's park inside the zoo area was much more attractive.

I never shared this thought process with my son to not manipulate him but to let him choose for himself. Surprisingly, from a very young age, he never showed any interest in seeing the animals but loved to walk around and go to the park instead.

So our zoo visit is never about animals but a beautiful walk in nature.

This is the second-largest zoo in Bangladesh that is located in my hometown, it's called Rangpur Zoo. The area is huge with hundreds of animals and birds.

We first went around to see a few animals like the Emu and monkeys. But as I have said, my son was asking to go visit the kid's park instead.

So we moved on. But before entering the park, we took the long road rather than the shortcut to see the beautiful park of the zoo.

There are so many types of trees; from small to big, from flowering to fruit. There are some benches for the visitors as well, so you can sit and enjoy the beautiful environment.

What I love most about the place is the peace and calm. There's chaos inside the park, it's a completely different environment from the rest of the city. Also, because of the trees and the lake, the weather feels cool inside the park.

We visited during the first hour. So there were not many visitors. My son was running around, picking random sticks and stones, leaves, and whatnot. And I was walking, a peaceful walk.

The kid's park also seems empty. There were only a few other visitors. My son was enjoying the rides alone. I'm grateful that they started the rides just for one child.

We went back after a few hours.

There's no need to say the morning went well. It would be a completely different scenario if we visited in the afternoon. Just to enjoy the peace, I decided to go in the morning. If you are not a people person I would suggest you do the same.

The park needs a 20/- ($.15) taka fee, and the kid's park requires an additional 20/- taka for each person. The rides were from 50/- taka to 100/- taka ($.35-$.80) each.

With only $5 you can have fun, enjoy the beautiful nature, and have a good day at the zoo park.
