There are many enjoyable weekend activities at the back of my mind, but on the top of the list, it's definitely a staycation.
I did a staycation in the earlier part of this year and I took this photo at the swimming pool of the hotel.
Staycations offer a good break from the busy lifestyles we lead and I often feel recharged after a good rest. One of the main highlights of a staycation would be to chill by the poolside. It just feels therapeutic to laze at the deck chairs and get some Vitamin D from the sun. If the waters aren't freezy, it's also nice to get some exercise by swimming a couple of laps. For this staycation, I particularly enjoyed the sights and sounds from the nature, which was something more valued for a city dweller like me where skyscrapers are the common sights and traffic noises are the common sounds that we get most of the time.
After a well spent morning (or evening) at the pool, there's always sumptuous food and beverages at the restaurants and bars in the hotel to ensure that one will never go hungry. Aside from food, some hotels do organise activities for the guests and for this staycation, I had the chance to do some art and craft which was then followed by a tea appreciation session.
Next up, who could forget about the luxurious room? The comfortable and huge beds, the nice smelling toiletries, the relaxing bathtub (sometimes I would bring some bath salts on my own if they aren't provided) just enhance the staycation experience further.
To end off, I thought I should also clarify that staycations are not something that I do frequently because they aren't cheap. Perhaps because they are hard to come by, the rarity of it alone makes the experience more enjoyable and memorable. Hehe!
