We can sit & dwell in our childhood & everything else in the past; the things that happened & all the things that were awful.
Then I found God & suddenly I found more than enough. There is more in God than there is in an earthly Dad.
God is my true father.
The whole picture of the sufficiency of God is he recognizes those who don't have a great home life, who don't have a great relationship w/ Dad.
He said, "I will be their father. I'm going to have a relationship w/ them. I'm going to set it & I'm going to work it out for them. I will also be the defender of the widows."
"The Lord is my sheperd I shall not want." He is more than enough for me.
Do we really believe it?
Being in love w/ the God of the universe & knowing that the Creator of this planet is crazy about me is enough.
If you would really reach out to Him & only understand Him & embrace Him & everything that He has to offer.
And for those that have abandoned their kids, their spouses...
God will forgive you if you cry out & admit what you've done & own up to it & seek change, there's forgiveness there.
You have to also believe that God is sufficient enough & that he can be a father to those kids of yours.
That despite what you've done that they reach out to Him & you pray, you pray that they reach out to Him that your kids will find everything they need in God because he is sufficient & he can make up for all the mistakes that we've made in parenting.
We have to depend on God; seek for His strength to be the parent we can be & that God is their father, their Creator & that He loves them more than we do & that we need God in the areas we can't be, where we fall short.
Believe, pray & change.
Nothing is impossible with God.
Psalm 27:10
Even if both parents abandoned you.
