Being successful matters but being being a good human being inside that does also matters as well. Financial wealth will come and go but the person that is within yourself need to be a human as well. Yep life can be tough but yeah you are not alone in it everyone's life is, do not make it an excuse. So work towards success but do not leave your humanity behind.
