In the next coming months, numerous changes are going to take place in the realm of Splinterlands. Which will not only change the course of Splinterlands into a new direction but it will also favor players to create a new world within Splinterlands. Hence, not only old users but new users will be also able to utilize this changes and make some decent ROI along the way.
Wen Land
This has been a common metaphor lurking in the Splinterlands server for so long that it started to become a joke at some point. But make no mistake the team has finally come up with a figurative speech and they are on the verge of making this into reality. The whitepaper of Land has been released and no surprise there are tons of updates regarding the upcoming changes into one of the best game of Splinterlands.
Although, it is still on testing phase and everything is going as planned, I am excited about the upcoming facts which are going to change the course of the game indefinitely. Of course that is in a positive way.
Use case of DEC
Without proper utilization of a coin it does not see the proper result. Talking about DEC, we have taken multiple steps to bring it back to pegged value. But so far it is lurking in around 85 area. But with the update of land there will be another use case which would potentially make use of DEC a little bit more.
One Power Source will be needed for each plot on which workers are assigned, and, in phase 1.5, Power Sources will be available to be purchased by burning 5,000 DEC or DEC-B tokens.
A Power Source is necessary to maintain the manifestations summoned through the use of cards. It can be thought of as a type of generator, and like all generators, it needs fuel in order to function. In this case the fuel will be Dark Energy Crystals (DEC), however the fuel will not be burned, instead it just has to be available for the Power Source to use - in other words, it needs to be staked. Please note that only DEC tokens may be staked and not DEC-B.

Keeping that in mind we are going to see some DEC tokens getting some utility along the way. A lot of DEC are going to be used and staked in the process which will eventually remove this DEC from circulation for the time being. As I believe no one would unstake those DEC if they want to get a steady income from their land.
This could potentially bring back some push to the price of DEC along the way. Although, many are purchasing DEC-B using vouchers for the last couple of days as they have been trying to make the best use of this opportunity of a discounted DEC which will come in handy in land upgrade.
RUNI
With the news of Land, there seem to be an after effect of the price of RUNI. As there will be an additional use case of RUNI in land. Which has made RUNI a must want item to have for the players of Splinterlands. Especially to those who owns land in Splinterlands.
Additionally, the Runi Core that is present in all Runi cards can also act as a Power Source, so any plot that has a Runi as one of the workers will not need a separate Power Source. If a plot has both a Runi and a Power Source then it will allow for a sixth card to work on the plot. Read More
At present RUNI has a floor price of 0.4349 ETH which is approximately $800. It is quite astounding to see such price of RUNI at present. While if I am being honest, I am not surprised as the team of Splinterlands usually comes up with such techniques that a certain NFT does gets valuable along the way. Which often does not happen with other NFT projects. But as we can see for Splinterlands every edition which has been out of print has not degrade in price. Instead they have sky rocketed as soon as they ran out of print. Which is another aspect which I love about Splinterlands.
SPS
Talking about Splinterlands, let us not forget about SPS. In couple of hours proposal #25 will probably pass. This would eventually make some impact in the price of Splintershards. As the reasoning behind it is the listing of SPS into few reputed exchange by giving out 30 mil SPS for this task. There has been various reasonings behind it and a debate has been going on as well. I have read various comments and posts about different opinions regarding this topic and I wish it would have been a different way to approach this topic.
But seems like the community has decided and we shall know the result of it in couple of hours. So we might see a pump and dump incoming for SPS in the next coming months. While I wish this would have been done during the bull market, where things would have been a lot more different for the whole eco system.
Overall, there are lots of cooking happening in the realm of Splinterlands. Which makes the ride with splinterlands in the coming months more than exciting. I am sitting and getting prepared for the after affects of this ride and hopefully we are going to see something big happening to us in this year. Possibly a change which we are not expecting at all ;)
