The Sanctuary of Las Lajas, designed by architects Gualberto Pérez and Lucindo Espinosa, is a breathtaking Gothic-revival basilica built into a canyon over the Guáitara River in southern #Colombia, near the border with Ecuador. Completed in 1949, it is renowned for its dramatic architecture and the miraculous image of the Virgin Mary said to have appeared on a rock face within its chapel. The church’s stone bridge and stunning natural surroundings make it a popular pilgrimage site and a marvel of both faith and #architecture. 📸: hposty@hposty, world@world_walkerz, Fabio Martinez #architectanddesign
