With all due respect, "often" is a rather vague and nebulous term. Compared to how many times cash and payroll advance companies and conventional money transfer services like Western Union have been used for such alleged criminal activities, I'm not sure that the documented examples of crypto being used are even statistically significant.
Given that this line is one of the favorite attacks used by those who hate crypto and want to kill it, I am strongly inclined to challenge each and every such claim.
