😻 Happy Caturday Everyone!😺
This is not really a happy Caturday post as it involves a young cat that has been left on it’s own as the temperature drops during the winter season.
A pretty little calico kitten was the first one to hang around and I left food out for it. Eventually I was able to tame it and took it to the vet to be checked. I found a good home for it as I already have two inside cats.
Friday has the M marking on the forehead and striped designs on the face which is characteristic of the tabby cat. There’s dark stripes around the neck, tail and throughout the body.
The one stripe out from each eye’s outer corner leaves a sad expression and remind me of my friend @deerjay’s Sad cat.
Friday is a real scaredy-cat and terrified of people. I don’t know if Friday is a male or female but has fattened up since I first started leaving out food every morning. Friday was very thin when I first saw the cat. I put worm medicine in the food a couple days as animals (humans also) may need treatment for parasites. I wondered if he/she is pregnant.
Since the cat is so afraid I can only hope Friday survives the winter while living outside under the deck. It’s a bit of shelter as it has a roof.
Luckily animals have a fur coat. Animals are amazing creatures of nature and most will find a dry warm place when temperatures fall below freezing but I have seen stray cats with chunks off the ends of their ears from frostbite.
Friday seems to prefer living under the deck and maybe feels safer close to the house.
There is also the danger of coyotes getting small animals. Many people have lost pets and coyotes have been seen nearby.
It’s still beyond my mindset how people can discard animals and leave them to fend for themselves. Someone must have brought the kittens to this area and dropped them off.
