I'm kinda tired of Comic Book Movies and all superheroes. I haven't watched a new movie except with the Grandkids for several years. I did enjoy Guardians of the Galaxy because of Rocket Raccoon. His name reminds me of the Beatles Band "Rocky Raccoon" song. Rocket is also a smartass under stress bringing humor into stressful situations. We need more spirit right now!
The character was created by Bill Mantlo and Keith Giffen.
The Rocket Raccoon has been around since 1976 and has been working without aging ever since. Rocket Raccoon possesses the typical attributes of an Earth-bound raccoon that has been heightened to a planet-destroying degree (just kidding, well, sorta). Just imagine a raccoon with superhero powers. The raccoon is badass enough, just generally with his ability to open anything and a keen sense of smell, sight, and hearing, along with an endless amount of curiosity.
Along with Rocket's natural skill-set, he can pilot a starship, engineer, and fix anything, is a dead-eye marksman, and loves all weapons, the bigger, the better. Also, the character can adapt and learn quickly, much like our earth-bound raccoons. Rocket has the grit to take a lead role when he is needed to become a leader of Guardians of the Galaxy when the Star-Lord is called away on another mission.
