In America's rural communities most of the young people worked and saved their money for school clothes and things they wanted to buy, like bicycles, motorcycles, things they wanted but didn't need. This helped us learn needed lessons when working and saving money takes discipline. We knew the worth of money because we had to work hard for it...lol I bought lots of chocolate bars....hahaha
