I just read an article about a Festival in India. They have a skull they use in their ceremony. I think how we see a skull is dependent on our conditioning. It would be creepy to find a random skull on a walk, but when used in a ceremony, which happens all the time in India, the skull transforms into something else for the participants. I had to take anatomy classes in my pre-nursing courses and I got over my revulsion pretty fast. Also drawing the skull brought out its beauty to me.
