I wanted to explore the texture and patterns of cat hair. I haven’t painted a cat since the mid 1990s. I had 4 kids back then to take care of, and a crazy drunk, now ex husband to clean up after. I had to put my artistic aspirations away for 20 years because I had a lot of cleaning to do.
Now my life is nice and neat I’ve been relearning how to paint and draw for the last couple of years. I am self taught, I like learning on my own, I think that’s called an autodidact.
This was my practice piece and I really enjoyed the process of layering. I am going to paint more big cats,
