So happy to learn that you have come through the hurricane unscathed.
I understand what you are saying completely about a little nook or cove providing some protection.
Oceans aren’t the same as rivers but wind and water forces still need to be respected. We’re tucked into a little cove and have an island in front of us that protects us from wake. We received the tail end of the hurricane but by the time it reached us, we were down to a severe storm warning. A few large tree branches down in our area and that was about the extent of it.
In other exciting news, I have retired....just coming up on 2 months. Now I am getting to things that I’ve wanted to for sooo long. Let’s get on with this living thing! Hahaha! A few days back, we left by canoe and paddle for 5 hours, packed a lunch and just got lost on a winding tributary. When we returned, we tracked our route on google earth and we’d paddled 10 km. It’s not that great a distance compared to running but the connection to nature was so worth it.
