Virtual robotics platform for students.
South Korea’s Robotis launched the Open Humanoid Gym Project, a program aimed at graduate students interested in the development of physical artificial intelligence. The initiative is based on the AIPN K1 humanoid and actuators developed by the company itself, but the goal is not simply to provide a ready-made robot.
One of the project's core components is called Gem; through it, participants gain access to robots, development tools, and technical guidance from industry engineers. The process begins in a virtual environment: before setting the physical humanoid in motion, students can develop behaviors via simulation by fine-tuning movements, reward functions, and control policies.
