The main difference between uTorrent Pro and the free version is the integrated antivirus which is redundant if you already have an antivirus installed on your PC.
If you just want to remove the ads on the GUI of the free version just follow these instructions - its really easy:
- Go to 'preferences' and open the 'advanced' tab (see picture below)
- search for the following and set them all to false:
- gui.show_plus_upsell
- offers.sponsered_torrent_offer_enabled
- offers.left_rail_offer_enabled
- gui.show_notorrents_node
- offers.content_offer_autoexec
- bt.enable_pulse
- click 'ok' and restart utorrent
