Once upon a time a man told me that smokers are wasting their money smoking, he calculated how much a smoker must have spent in a year smoking and if that money was saved into achieving something better they would have done something huge with the money. Something huge like buying a house or buying a car or investing it in stock whatsoever. After saying this, someone asked him do you smoke? He said No, then where is your house or car or big purchase and he went quiet. Because if doesn’t smoke and keeps saving the money like he said and how easy he put it, he should also have a big purchase. This is because, we all have small purchases that we do that make us happy that don’t matter.

Trying to tie financial responsibilities to that is ridiculous, we are humans, we do little things that make us happy, for some people it’s buying a cup of Starbucks coffee, some people it’s buying a box of chocolate, while some it’s buying their favorite alcohol. These small purchases shouldn’t matter and people shouldn’t get shamed for making small purchases. People are working so hard and they should be allowed to buy whatever they want. The world economy is crashing, inflation is going higher and things are getting more expensive especially basic things like getting a house.
People should focus more on making more money, so they don’t have to dwell on cutting on small purchases like this. For instance, I love food a lot, I will always choose food over everything, no matter how small my cravings are, I will make sure I get them. I can’t stop doing that because I am supposed to save the money for some big purchase.
