Been a really long time I did a pancakeswap post because using it kinda felt normal, one of the reasons I love pancake swap is because it was the first DEX I started using. The time I started using pancakeswap it only accepts Binance smart chain transaction, it was initially seen as a Binance Smartchain DEX, but this was during the bull market.they were complacent with the bull market and the revenue they were getting from the transactions gotten from the chain, but during the bear market, they had to improvise by adding more chains, changed from being the Binance Smart Chain DEX to being a DEX with multiple chains. This is what other DEX like uni swap and 1inch do, I think these chains laughed as an ethereum chain but added more chains to their services.
They added Ethereum chain, Aptos chain and other EVMs like Arbitrum, but the most exciting thing they did I noticed was quickly adding the new EVM chains like the Base Chain, the Linea chain, the Zksync Era and the polygon zkEVM. I guess they are trying to attract these new communities before the next bull market and make enough money through gas fees from transactions. Although I doubt lots of people are going to use pancakeswap to transact on these new chains because people are chasing airdrops. New DEXs that supports these chains don’t have native tokens yet and there is a chance that there will distribute their native tokes as airdrop, so people are focusing on transacting on those DEX more to increase their airdrop chance. But pancakeswap has native token that laughed more than two years ago. I have no idea if they distributed any airdrop, but you get my point?
In terms of sustainability, if I am being sincere, I think pancakeswap seems quite sustainable, not had any major exploits like other DEX have had in the past, the DEX is trying their best to be sustainable and create value to promote utilising their DEX platform.
